KODO heartbeat glow slit option

When you open the driver’s door and sit down before starting the engine, the area around the tachometer lights up softly.

This is Mazda’s KODO “heartbeat” animation – something every current MX-5/Miata owner will recognise.

In the original Japan-market Metal Gauge Kit, we removed this glowing section so that the stainless-steel panel could appear as a cleaner, larger metal surface. However, many owners who liked the KODO effect told us they were disappointed to lose it.

To answer that feedback, we created this optional slit so you can enjoy the heartbeat glow even with the Metal Gauge Kit installed.

If you prefer a stronger, uninterrupted metal look, choose the kit without this option.

If you want to keep enjoying the KODO glow, please select this option when ordering.

By using our separately sold Colored Layer film, trimmed to your preferred shape as shown in the photos, you can also change only the color of the heartbeat glow area. Feel free to customise it to match your own taste.
